This mixed media piece started with an idea to take scraps of vintage silk sarees and vintage bedsheets from the 60s and use the rosettes to create a garden. Because of the size of the rosettes and flowers, they don’t recede into the horizon, so after they were all affixed to the canvas, I thought they looked like a church choir, all singing in harmony. Thus the name “Flower Chorus” was born.

18×18 inches, acrylic on silk with sequins, beads, embroidery, and vintage bedsheets. Available now in the Layered Magic shop.
