May Recap
It has been a while since I have posted and that’s because I’ve been busy making art! I have quite a few pieces for sale in the Layered Magic shop and several others in the pipeline coming soon.
I got business cards! Aren’t they cute?
I’ve been exploring digital art in Procreate on my iPad, which has been fun and educational. It definitely feels different than real painting, like the creative process just feels different, and the media behave differently between the Procreate brush and a real brush with a real canvas. The triptych Eden | Lament | Eden Reborn were created in Procreate.
My business bank account and Squarespace are currently taking separate vacations and not speaking to each other, which is a silly metaphor which means I’m having payment issues right now. If you’ve tried to buy something and it didn’t work, please email me and we can find a workaround! I hope to have this resolved first thing Tuesday morning.
Tim and I celebrated 21 years of marriage by going to Hocking Hills where I enjoyed taking some new photos. I am in the process of making some of them available for purchase as digital downloads.
Here’s a few of the shots I took posted on my instagram (@layeredmagicshop - follow me!)
I’ve started making surface designs and I hope to have those up in my Spoonflower shop soon. I’m still learning about Spoonflower so bear with me as I figure things out.
I’ve fallen behind on my RCL poetry project but I hope to post something for this week: Pentecost!
I’m preaching on June 28, specifically on Genesis 22:1-14, the binding of Isaac. I have found this story to be one of the most troubling in Scripture so I’m excited to dig in and proclaim good news.
That’s it for a May recap! I am thankful every day for this little creative venture and for the love and support from my family and friends.
