Eden | Lament | Eden Reborn: Community Collection
Eden is the world before the fall, shimmering with original glory, as God walks with us in the cool of the day. A violent life marked pervasively with fear and destruction infiltrated our world in sin. In Lament the river divides, an arbitrary mark on a map defining mine and not yours. It is the end result of a life in the kingdom of death. But then. In Eden Reborn the river is invitation, the crystal river of Revelation 22, flowing from the throne, and on either bank the Tree of Life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.
Today I lament. I lament war and corruption and the need for power and control to assuage our fears that there isn’t enough for all, that “they” are out to destroy us, animals, not human.
Ephesians 2 says the dividing wall of hostility has been abolished. We are invited to be a new humanity in the kingdom of God. A kingdom without borders, walls, grabs for power and conquest, built on a foundation of love.
At the end of all things love remains.
Lines on a map are arbitrary. The Imago Dei is not.
The tree bears fruit for everyone. It belongs to everyone in the economy of God. It multiplies and divides like loaves and fishes. For healing of the nations. It is my prayer we work towards Eden Reborn. This is not a passive waiting, it is a faith that works with God to make all things new and redeem and repair what is broken.
We don’t have to live like this.
Digital art created by me in Procreate, printed on archival paper. Although a limited run, each print is made to order and takes 2-3 weeks for production and shipping.
Unlike the Collectors’ Editions, the Community Collection of these prints is an open run (unlimited) of 12×12 prints (unframed). 30% of all proceeds go to Food Not Bombs (Indianapolis chapter) and Exodus Refugee Immigration. $150 for the set (not sold individually).
Made to order. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.
