A 14×14 inch original on framed canvas. Acrylic layered with paper fragments and phrases cut from a children’s book I thrifted, embedded into the surface so they read like the space between awake and dreaming.
The title comes from a specific phrase from the children’s book - You Were The Sky. I named it for my nephew Sky because it is my prayer that, like his name suggests, he grows up knowing his potential has no ceiling.
The piece is very Layered Magic: built up through many layers of acrylic and paper, integrated with text fragments and love.
