Dinner

I had an idea to write a poem every week based on the Revised Common Lectionary readings for that particular Sunday. Today is Easter 4 Year A and the readings can be found here:

• Acts 2:42-47

• 1 Peter 2:19-25

• John 10:1-10

• Psalm 23

We recognize his voice

in our names called out

in greeting by friends, 

and in the goodness and mercy of

the breaking of the bread

and sitting together around the table,

precious faces anointed with oil

with cups running over,

glad and generous hearts in bodies

that feel they are safe and kept

and lacking nothing.
